John is the first customer in all of centrall Florida to become the proud owner of a 100% electric LEAF. John took delivery of the LEAF November 22nd, 2011. More than just his mode of transportation will change when John Giammarino gets his Nissan Leaf later this week.
Decades of driving habits for the 54-year-old will need to change, too ? though maybe "evolve" is a more appropriate word.
The all-electric Leaf gets about 100 miles per charge, which comfortably covers his 70-mile commute from his Titusville home to Siemens Energy Inc. in Orlando. Gone will be stops for fill-ups along the way, but also the option to venture too far from his home-to-work-to-home route, lest he find himself stranded with an empty battery.
And when he gets home, his tasks now include making sure to plug his Leaf into the 220-volt home-charging station in his garage.
